What’s the difference between polyester and nylon docklines?
Polyester has better UV resistance, lower stretch, and no loss of strength when wet. Nylon stretches more (good for shock absorption) but degrades faster in sunlight. For permanent or semi-permanent yacht docking, polyester is the better choice.
What diameter dockline do I need?
Generally, use 1mm of rope diameter for every 3 feet of yacht length. A 60-foot yacht typically uses 20mm. A 100-foot yacht uses 30mm or larger. Message us with your yacht details for a specific recommendation.
Are these the same as mooring lines?
The construction is identical. Docklines are sized for shorter-duration tying-up at marina visitor berths and fueling docks. Mooring lines are typically heavier and used for permanent or semi-permanent setups.
What lengths are available?
Five lengths: 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, and 60m. Six diameters from 20mm to 50mm.
How long is the lead time?
Custom made to order in Europe with 2–4 week delivery.
